What is the age range for students to participate in BACHS? | Ages 8 – 18 (19, if you’re student is high school). |
What are the types of choirs? | Treble – Open to all students 8 to 12. Cantate – This choir is for students that have had a few years of experience in singing. It will help prepare students for the high school level choir. (In 2020, this choir was paused as we look for a new director). Concert – This choir is for students that have a handle on the basic skills of music. They have a basic ability to sight-reading music and understand music notation. All students do go through an audition process. |
Why Auditions? | Each year BACHS tries to ensure that each student is placed in the right choir, thus vocal placement auditions are performed before registration. All high school-age students must audition as well as any student who desires to be in BACHS’s Concert Choir. Students will be asked to: * Sight read a small portion of music. * Sing scales with piano * Sing a simple song, “Happy Birthday” or “Amazing Grace” An audition does not guarantee the student will be placed in the concert choir. |
What date and time do choirs meet? | BACHS meets each 2nd and 4th Wednesday* during the school season. See the calendar for this year’s details. *Calendar will reflect if additional dates are scheduled. |
